On monday 11th and 18th april our 4 classes of LVCP visited Kearneys Home bakery as part of LCVP.
As part of the LCVP Link Modules Programme students are required to go on ‘A Visit Out’ to an enterprise where they learn about the following;
- the background of the business, what product/service they provide, how the product/service is promoted, how many employees and their roles and responsibilities, the advantages and disadvantages of being the person in charge, health and safety and the strengths, challenges, opportunities and threats that the business has.
Over 70 students from Tarbert Comprehensive visited Kearney’s Bakery in Ballyhahill, Co. Limerick and were given a run-down on all of the above from the proprietor, Maura Kearney Ambrose. Students gained a wonderful insight into the start-up of a business and what it takes to be a success. No doubt we will have some budding entrepreneurs among our students in the years to come. And of course the students were given samples of their finest buns!
