Two Transition Year Students were offered the opportunity to complete a week long work placement with RTE at the end of January. A number of students showed an interest in completing this placement and 2 lucky students Rachel Rowlands (Athea) and Eamon Mulvihill (Moyvane) were eventually chosen from the hat to complete the placement. Rachel shared her thoughts on the week with us.
The week long work placement at RTE was an unforgettable experience. We were shown incredible things that people would usually never get to see such as radio studios, television show sets and post production offices and we also discovered the different types of jobs that exist in all of the departments. As well as this we experienced some amazing things that are just features of everyday life at RTE like watching the National Symphony Orchestra rehearsing for a performance and also seeing Walking on Cars preparing for their slot on the Late Late Show. On a whole I met some wonderful people and I feel incredibly lucky to have had the chance to do something like this.
